I bought the polar foam solid pad for the bed I share with my husband. He used to complain that the mattress made him hot & he couldn't sleep which usually meant I couldn't sleep either.
Yes, it is expensive. Well worth it. We live in Dallas where even with the AC, it's hot. This memory foam pad does feel cool. I can sleep in the bed and be comfortable. Our mattress is atleast 10 years old. Using this pad makes it better. I don't feel like I'm sleeping in a valley. I have told all of my friends to order one for their beds. The picture looks like the lady is sleeping ontop of the pad. You put it under the bottom sheet. I am very happy with my purchase. I will buy one for my guest bed. I am buying a pair of the polar foam pillows today.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
